- Abstract
The present study aimed to analyze the relationship between fear of COVID-19 and levels of depression, anxiety, and depression in adults aged 18 and older. The subject group of the research consists of 675 individuals (391 females and 284 males) in the age range of 18 and 75. “Personal Information Form,” “The Fear of COVID-19 Scale” to specify the level of fear of COVID-19, “Beck Depression Scale” to specify the level of depression, “Beck Anxiety Scale” to specify the level of anxiety, and “Beck Hopelessness Scale” to specify the level of hopelessness have been prepared by the researcher and used to collect personal data from the subject group. Independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis, and simple linear regression analysis have been used to analyze the collected data. According to the results of the study, due to fear of COVID-19 level, level changes of depression, anxiety, and hopelessness have been viewed according to demographic variables. Furthermore, it has been observed that as individuals’ fear of COVID-19 increased, their levels of depression, anxiety, and hopelessness also increased; herewith, the fear of COVID-19 has predictive effects on levels of depression, anxiety, and hopelessness.
