- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which investigated the threat of infectious disease among wild canids like wolves or Canis lupus that will originate from domestic dogs or Canis familiaris in British Columbia. However, the study revealed that transfer of diseases from wildlife to dogs also happens and some diseases are transferred from dogs to humans. The serology results in the study showed that the subject dogs have been exposed to canine parvovirus, distemper virus and respiratory coronavirus but not to cryptococcus gattii.
