- Abstract
The authors look at the significance of the establishment of the Cancer Target Discovery and Development (CTD²) Network by the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) to patient-based cancer therapeutics. Decoding cancer genotypes to determine acquired pathway and oncogene addictions of tumor subtypes is the network's mission. Also cited are advances in gene function modulation exploited by the CTD². The overall effort to discover patient-based therapeutics is said to be facilitated by the network.
