The article reports the issue of poorly coordinated and fragmented consumer genetic tests trend in the United States. The section examines the growing trend of consumer genetic testing in America, with at least 27 web-based companies offering the service. According to the report, the disconnect between the increasing number of tests on offer and their quality has prompted the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to issue a report criticizing regulatory oversight as divided and poorly organized.
