The article focuses on the impact of burden of hypertension in childhood on cardiovascular disease, and mentions strategies to prevent high blood pressure appear which causes hypertension. Topics discussed include relationship between parents blood pressure and children whose mothers developed gestational hypertension; theory of developmental programming of chronic diseases; and role of maternal folic acid in the development of hypertension in offspring.
