- Abstract
Jeanne d'Arc au Bûcher by Claudel is a work full of medieval imagery and based on clear erudition. Scenes IV and VI are representative of this innutrition, which can be seen in the portrayal of a "monde bestorné" or world turned upside down. The path envisaged in this article aims to show the shift from the medieval world to its subversion in the traits of an animalized court, while studying the modes of appropriation of reconfigured medieval material as both same and other.
