- Title
Ofsted and helping ‘stuck’ schools.
- Abstract
The article reports that the role of Ofsted is a controversial one. Mary Bousted, Joint General Secretary of the National Education Union, writing in this issue, did not pull her punches. She called Ofsted "an inspection agency which is loathed and feared by the profession it regulates." Nobody likes being inspected, but complaints about Ofsted by the teaching unions have largely been dismissed as coming from the usual suspects whose members just don't like accountability.
