- Abstract
The article presents a "Devil's Dictionary" of evolutionary biological terms, modeling itself after the 1911 satirical reference book "Devil's Dictionary," by Ambrose Bierce. Terms defined and discussed include Cladistics, Homology, and Monophyly. The authors satirize the contradictions and overabundance of biological terms and phrases used within the field of biological systematics. Comments are also given seriously discussing the need for consensus and uniformity within the field for its continued development.
