- Abstract
This exploratory descriptive study with qualitative approach aimed to know the meanings regarding professional performance by medical and nursing team work in the operational bases of prehospital care (PHC), in Itatiba and Campinas cities, of Rota das Bandeiras concessionaire of Dom Pedro I highway and also to know the feelings of the team in question, concerning their performances. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Escola de Enfermagem Wenceslau Braz. The sample included 10 health professional providers of PHC in this highway. The intentional sampling method was used. Data collection was carried out by a semi-structured interview guide, which was recorded and transcribed literally. The collected data were analyzed and systematized according to the method of content analysis. The respondents pointed out that to work in PHC services means professional satisfaction, teamwork, prevention of secondary injury, like to work in health area, challenge, responsibility and constant learning. They expressed that while working they feel motivated, satisfied, happy, and working in a team in a pleasant environment. We concluded that health professional providers of PHC feel satisfied to perform their routine tasks, like their work and that teamwork is a primary characteristic of this kind of work because fight for life is the biggest love lesson.
