- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses research work and clinical studies to develop orally delivered drugs eradicate hepatitis C virus (HCV). The author mentions two enzymes encoded by HCV which are essential for viral replication, serine protease (NS3-4A) and an RNA polymerase (NS5B) are attractive drug targets. The author informs about new direct acting antiviral (DAA) drugs like sofosbuvir which targets the active site of NS5B.
