- Abstract
Field experiments were carried out at the Research Station, College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad. Experiment was designed as Randomized complete block design (RCBD) in split plot arrangement with three replications, treatments fertilizers occupied main plots. Whereas, genotype occupied the sub plots. The results showed that the selected Argentine genotype was superior in most studied traits despite its little response to selection due to the homogeneity of its plants. The treatment of bio fertilizer with recommendation 75% N showed significantly increased in all vegetative traits, as number of leaves (32.82 leaf plant-1), number of branches (27.58 branch plant-1), number of nodes in main stem (22.32 node), stem diameter (9.46 mm) and yield per plant (52.12 g), followed by treatment bio fertilizer with recommendation 50% N. It can be concluded that selection was efficiency for local variety and the combination of bio fertilizer and chemical fertilizer gave the best vegetative traits in mungbean.
