- Abstract
To map the scientific evidence on the consequences of the new Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) on the mental health of the world population. Scoping review, in which the Population, Concept, and Context mnemonic was used, through research in four databases. A total of 144 publications were included in the study, the majority of which were written in English, developed by physicians, and published in the Asian Journal of Psychiatry. The evidence was divided into the following themes: Factors that trigger alterations, High risk or vulnerable groups, Psychoemotional alterations, and coping strategies. It was possible to map a significant number of publications on the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of the world population. It is recommended that new studies with better scientific evidence be produced to support the reformulation and restructuring process of public policies in the field of mental health, including the response to the pandemic aspect.
