- Abstract
Lightweight cryptography is one of the state-of-the-art techniques in modern symmetric cryptographic systems which can be efficiently implemented in constrained devices, enabling secure and efficient communication between networked smart objects specific to Internet of Things environment. It focuses on optimizing the encryption algorithms taking into account the importance of ensuring the security of constrained end nodes and the fact that implementing sufficient cryptographic functions on constrained devices is rather difficult, due to the limitation of their resources. The paper presents a survey of the cryptographic methods, with an analysis of theoretical framework and specific performances.
