- Abstract
The article focuses on the transplantation and regenerative medicines and discusses the importance of stem cells derived from umbilical cord blood in it. The author informs that stem cells from fetal blood helps in the treatment of metabolic disorders, immunodeficiencies, tumors and genetic defects. It is mentioned that cord blood is better tolerated than bone marrow because of the immunological immaturity of its cells.
