- Abstract
This article presents the response of author Tani E. Barlow regarding the reaction of Ellen DuBois to her book "The Question of Women in Chinese Feminism." The author appreciates her reaction to the book with regards to politics and language. Regarding the concern of Dubois with womanhood, she notes that she has stressed the active roles of feminist ideas in political and social movements in her book. She agrees with DuBois on her statement that the book is concerned with actively normative role of language in political movements rather than on its passiveness.
