- Abstract
An essay is presented on the history of the rise of seal level and land submergence in Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. It explores the areas most vulnerable to the rise of sea level due to human-induced greenhouse effect and the historical consensus on the combination of coastal subsidence and rising sea level that created Louisbourg harbour. It also cites the long era of private fishing and trading ventures in Louisbourg as well as the changing situation along its historic shoreline.
