- Abstract
The article discusses alternative strategies to mitigate antibiotics use in animal health. With concerns about antibiotic resistance to certain strains of bacteria and restrictions on its use in animals, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) scientists developed and patented new technologies in aid of reducing antibiotic use including those in the treatment of mastitis in cattle, control of foodborne enteric bacterial pathogens, and creation of antimicrobials that kill disease-causing bacteria.
