- Abstract
The article analyzes sheep, cattle, and alpaca blood spiked with various Bluetongue virus (BTV) serotypes to determine if species affected nucleic acid recovery and assay performance. The findings revealed that BTV-specific nucleic acid detection from alpaca blood was lower than from sheep and cattle blood. Results for all other BTV serotypes were the same.
