- Abstract
We report a 9-m-old infant with systemic hypertension and congestive heart failure due to intrinsic renal artery stenosis (RAS), which was successfully treated by percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA). Captopril enhanced technetium-99m diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid renal scan and cineangiography facilitated the clinical recognition in this infant of this not unusual cause of renovascular hypertension. PTA can be considered the treatment of choice for RAS in an infant of even 9 mo of age.
