- Abstract
Fingernail fragment (around 200 mg) was first cut into fine pieces using a diamond saw, and the hair and nail samples were subsequently pulverized to make powders. Nevertheless, segmental analyses cannot be performed on nails, and available data for the interpretation of nail results remain sparser than those for hair. The black hair sample (8 cm long strand and no distinction between root and tip) and fingernail samples (it was a nail chip from the outer edge, equivalent to a nail clipping sample) were prepared and analyzed using previously reported methods ([1]).
