- Abstract
The article highlights the findings of a research on receptor-mediated regulation of phospholipase A2 (PL2) activity that leads to glycerophosphoinositol formation. It is found that intracellular glycerophosphoinositol is increased by receptor-stimulated hydrolysis of membrane phosphoinositides through activation of PL2IVα. Cell proliferation was stimulated by direct addition of arachidonic acid but did not correlate with the role of adrenergic and prinergic receptors in a cell system.
