- Abstract
This article discusses a pilot study that examined the effectiveness of oral iron supplementation in treating female pattern hair loss (FPHL) patients with low serum ferritin levels. The study divided patients into two groups, one receiving oral iron supplementation and topical minoxidil, and the other receiving only topical minoxidil. The study found that the combination of oral iron supplementation and topical minoxidil did not show superior results compared to topical minoxidil alone. However, no serious side effects were reported from the iron supplementation. The document also provides a list of references for further research on the topic of female pattern hair loss and its potential relationship to iron deficiency.
