- Title
Effects of external radiation on an Alcubierre warp bubble.

- Abstract
The possibility of an Alcubierre warp drive (AWD) has been extensively explored and challenged in the literature. This paper summarizes the principles behind the proposed AWD and the issues that may hinder its realization. Also examined is an additional complication that appears to prohibit even a subluminal Alcubierre warp bubble. In contrast to the assertion by Barceló et al. (e-print arXiv: 1001.4960), this work argues that both continuous and pulsed configurations of subluminal and superluminal warp bubbles cannot be sustained due to the energy loss from the blueshifting of external radiation entering the front Pfenning region.
