- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a woman with history of an itchy erythematous eruption. It notes that gastric bypass surgery is an effective and common procedure performed in patients with morbid obesity to achieve long-term weight loss. Details of the physical examination are presented. It notes that the patient was diagnosed with kwashiorkor, a form of protein-energy malnutrition, as a result of a deficit in dietary protein despite adequate carbohydrate intake.
