Serum albumin is one of the most investigated proteins of the last half-century. Yet, the specific locations and three-dimensional features of its fatty acid binding sites have eluded definition. A new X-ray crystal structure of human serum albumin complexed with five molecules of myristate helps to solve the mystery.
