- Abstract
This article discusses a retrospective study conducted in South India to evaluate the incidence of chromosomal, genetic, and cardiac abnormalities in fetuses with increased Nuchal Translucency (iNT) and Tricuspid Regurgitation (TR) during the first trimester of pregnancy. The study found that fetuses with both iNT and TR had a higher risk of chromosomal and cardiac anomalies compared to those with only TR or neither iNT nor TR. The authors suggest that adding a meticulous assessment of tricuspid valve Doppler during the first trimester scan, along with the assessment of NT, could improve the detection rate of these anomalies.
