- Abstract
This article, titled "Association between fetal brain diffusion weighted imaging and postnatal neurodevelopmental outcomes after prenatal spina bifida repair," examines the relationship between fetal brain imaging and postnatal neurodevelopmental outcomes in infants who underwent prenatal spina bifida repair. The study involved 73 infants and used diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) scans to measure brain microstructure. The results showed that infants with delayed cognition and communication skills had significant differences in their fetal brain microstructure measured 6 weeks after the surgery. This research provides valuable insights into the potential impact of prenatal spina bifida repair on neurodevelopmental outcomes.
