- Abstract
The article examines the advantages of grease over lubricating oils. It mentions that lubricating oils are mainly composed of base oils and additives while greases are composed of these two elements with thickener. It lists the uses of grease that can resist physical removal by water spray or centrifugal forces, used in 90 percent of rolling element bearings, and can be used as a physical barrier against airborne contaminants such as moisture and dirt.
