The author reflects on the enforcement of Halal food law in Great Britain. Topics covered include the strict liability regulation of which comprise food law in Great Britain is based on the criminal law and is enforced by local authority environmental health and trading standards services, the need for the preparation for sale of Halal food to conform with state law and regulation and examples of prohibited or Haram foods and circumstances of killing animals for food.
