- Title
The Essence of Dispositional Essentialism.
- Authors
Yates, David
- Abstract
The author discusses the need to treat dispositional essentialism (DE) as a primitive as it mixes up causal roles between nominally correlated properties. He provides an explanation regarding the inessential causal roles of properties that appeals to laws of nature. He also presents necessities on a theory of essence which is suitable in the need of interpretation through the epistemological and metaphysical work proponents of interpretation.
