- Title
A New Emendation in The Winter’s Tale.
- Authors
Craik, T. W.
- Abstract
The article discusses the interpretation of line 411 in the fourth act of the fourth scene of the play "The Winter's Tale" by William Shakespeare. The author suggests that the phrase "my sonne" was incorrectly read from a manuscript and should be emended to read "any sonne," citing another example in Shakespeare's play "All's Well that Ends Well." The author suggests that the emendation allows for the correct meter of the text and improves the meaning of the line.
