- Title
A DONATION TO THE WILFRED OWEN COLLECTION AT OXFORD.
- Authors
Hibberd, Dominic
- Abstract
The article reports on a donation to poet Wilfred Owen Collection in the English Faculty Library at Oxford, England. In 1978 Wilfred Owen's cousin, Leslie Gunston, gave the Owen books and manuscripts still in his possession to the collection. In 1988 he presented a number of further items, including twenty-three of his own books. Several books contain the bookplate, which Gunston designed for himself. There seem to be no marginal or textual annotations. Some notes on the new donation follow. A collection of fourteen shards and other relics, apparently Roman, must be the survivors from the sack of "almost a hundred large pieces" given to the cousins in 1910.
