- Abstract
The article discusses the alternative chemical to replace methyl bromide (MeBr) in soil pre-plant fumigation and methyl isothiocyanate (MITC) which is a soilborne pest control. It focuses on the development of soil surface water application amount to inhibit the MITC off-gassing rate. It shows a reduction of off-gassing rate for increased water seal application. It presents a high suppression of MITC-generating compounds using enough surface irrigation after the chemical application.
