- Abstract
This article presents a teaching experience with twenty students of the Degree course in Computing, enrolled in the discipline of Linear Algebra, of the Federal Institute of Tocantins - Campus Porto Nacional-IFTO aiming to offer to future computer teachers and also to the teachers of Mathematics, necessary subsidies for the development of activities that can assist them in understanding the operations of Matrices through classes of mathematical investigations, using the computer laboratory and the GeoGebra software, under the light of the reference of Ponte, Brocardo and Oliveira. The research presents itself in a qualitative perspective of an exploratory nature, according to Lakatos and Marconi. The goal was to present a didactic sequence developed in a computerized environment as well as some software tools that can serve as a methodological and motivating resource for the math teacher when teaching Matrices. We introduced GeoGebra to the students in the computer lab, with two students per machine, followed by a brief screen-based explanation of the issues to be solved, and then proposed to the students that they solve the activities using the software. The results showed that the investigative activities with the use of GeoGebra expanded the methodological possibilities regarding the teaching and learning of matrices as well as demanded of future teachers actions such as conjecture, test, reformulate and justify, indispensable to the teaching profession.
