- Abstract
A preliminary checklist of flowering plants in Ma'okil Forest Reserve, Johor is reported. A total of 352 species in 201 genera and 73 families was recorded. Euphorbiaceae which is represented by 40 species is the most speciose family and Syzygium (Myrtaceae) is the largest genus with 19 species. A total of 36 taxa found here are endemic to Peninsular Malaysia. One of the interesting findings in this study is the presence of Alphonsea johorensis (Annonaceae) which is uncommon, and only previously recorded from south-east Johor.
