- Abstract
This study explores a motivational justification to stakeholder theory. This methodological perspective is different and complementary of previous ones that impose normative considerations for stakeholder theory. Focusing on the entrepreneurial process, it analyzes the mechanisms that explain stakeholder's actions and stakeholder's alignment. The main argument is that stakeholder's act motivated by both, the external output of their actions and the realization of the process. The process by itself, as a central motivation, provides individual and collective identity, what ultimately explains stakeholder's alignment. This argumentation has managerial and normative implications.
