- Abstract
This article discusses the development of the judicial system of the indigenous populations in the region of Michoacán, Mexico. The author comments on the implementation of communal justice administration among the indigenous community in 2007, which emphasizes a system of legal pluralism. He also considers the establishment of the legal system as well as the installation of community courts and judges in the region. An anthropological analysis of the justice system in Michoacán is also explored.
