- Abstract
Since the irruption of marxism and anarchism, a century and a half have passed. But capitalism has shown great resilience despite several major economical crises. In this scenario of unfulfilled promises, this article explores what remains, in the xxi century, of these left -the extremist or revolutionatay one- that does not accept the procedures of the rule of law, representative democracy, or, simply, political pluralism and that, instead, legitimizes the use of violence to meet its objectives. To do this, we use Carl Schmitt's concept of the politics as a theoretical framework, and we expose the way in which that left conceives politics, the relationship with its antagonists on the political scene, the way of accessing power, as well as some relevant brushstrokes to the devised model of society. All of which allows us to verify, not only the survival of these discourses, but also the presence of many elements shared among all of them.
