- Abstract
Objective: To study the comparison of clinical efficacy of iodine 131 (I131) and antithyroid drugs in treatment of hyperthyroidism, and to provide reference for clinical. Methods: Selected 218 cases of patients with hyperthyroidism in our hospital from January 2012 to October 2014, which were divided into observation group and control group according to random number table method, with 109 patients in each group. The observation group was treated with I131, and the control group was treated with antithyroid drugs. Compared the clinical efficacy, recurrence rate, complications of two groups after 12 months of treatment, and detected the levels of serumthyroid hormone by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay before and after treatment. Results: After 12 months of treatment, the effective rate in observation group was 92.66%, which was obviously higher than 69.72% of control group, and the recurrence rate in observation group was 2.75%, which was obviously lower than 13.76% of control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0. 01). The incidence rate of adverse reactions such as heart disease, liver function damage and decreasing hemogram in the observation group was 7.34%, which was lower than 32.11% of control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01). The levels of serum thyroxine(T4), free three iodine thyroid original acid(FT3), three iodine thyroid original acid (T3), thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) and free thyroid hormone (FT4) in two groups after treatment were lower than before treatment, and the reduction rate of the observation group was better than control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Connclusions: The Iodine 131 treatment of hyperthyroidismis able to improve clinical efficacy, reduce the recurrence rate, adverse reactions, and also can reduce the levels of serum thyroid hormone, which is worthy of promotion and application.
