- Authors
PARNHAM, DAVID
- Abstract
The article discusses the legacy of John Cotton to the governor Sir Henry Vane the Younger. It details the misconceptions which pervaded Cotton's preaching of free grace and Vane's experiences while advancing the cause of the free grace party. It states that while Cotton was into purificatory offerings of the covenant of works, Vane pointed people to a deserved place in the fires of hell and used the covenant of works and combat tools.
