- Title
Variation in plant responsiveness to defense elicitors caused by genotype and environment.
- Authors
Bruce, Toby J. A.
- Abstract
The author discusses variations in induced plant defenses that may be influenced by plant genotype, environment, and genotype-environment interaction. Topics addressed include studies on the use of induced plant defense to develop crop protection treatments, the role of herbivore induced volatile (HIPV) emission in indirect defense, the necessity of proper timing in inducing or priming plant defenses, and the influence of environmental biotic or abiotic stress on defense activator treatment.
