- Abstract
The organizational studies have struggled to focuse analysis also at labour process, trying to notice how quality programs impact organizational control, labour division and human resource management. A significant issue to organizational theories, related to Total Quality Management (TQM), is control, pathway of this essay that considers TQM an important influence upon organizational control system. The purpose of the present essay is to analyse how TQM, as a management model, has a promised speech to change coercive employee's control for a more (apparently) democratic labour relations through a participative management in which autonomy and labor influence chance are possible for all. A critical analysis of quality management principles show that upon total engagement of employees to organizational supported causes, settles capital-labour relations through difuse control, known as cognitive's premise control (PERROW, 1986), a type of control based on common shared world view or related to persuasion and consensus.
