- Authors
Takeuchi, David T.; Alegria, Margarita; Jackson, James S.; Williams, David R.
- Abstract
The article presents an editorial looking at immigration and mental health in the U.S. According to the article, some empirical studies have shown that at least some immigrant groups may experience better mental health than U.S.-born individuals. As they participate more actively in American life, immigrants become more similar to U.S.-born individuals in their mental health status. The article discusses the special research section in this issue entitled "National Health Surveys Examining Disparities."
