- Abstract
Among the solid state processes, cold press welding (known also as press bonding, or cold press welding), has important applications and is used for joining materials with low yield strength value, fin case of similar or dissimilar joints. Pressure cold welding raises very interesting theoretical and practical issues related to joint achievement, material deformation, and its flow and hardening during pressing, respectively. The paper addresses these topics, presenting several theoretical and experimental results of the collaborative research developed by the authors, representing an original approach in the field of cold press welding. At the end of the paper, considerations about the experimental validation of the model and useful conclusions are formulated.
