- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines whether pergolide, cabergoline and non-ergot-derived dopamine agonists increase the risk of valvular heart disease in patients with Parkinson's disease. Results revealed that pergolide and cabergoline groups has a higher risk of moderate-to-severe valve regurgitation. The non-ergot-derived dopamine agonists and control groups do not differ from the outcomes. It is concluded that pergolide and cabergoline increased the risk of vascular heart disease.
