The article focuses on the concept of sonothrombolysis as an effective adjunct to intravenous tissue plasminogen for activator therapy in acute ischemic stroke. It mentions that Combined Lysis of Thrombus in Brain Ischemia With Transcranial Ultrasound and Systemic tPA (CLOTBUST) trial has been the most significant study that addresses the clinical application for treatment option. It also mentions the use of transcranial Doppler (TCD) monitoring.
