- Abstract
A pot experiment was carried out under field conditions at the University of Kerbala - College of Agriculture to study the effect of foliar application of auxin and Nano- chelated zinc on the activity of some antioxidant enzymes in wheat plant (Triticum aestivum L.) grown in sandy loam soil during the 2019-2020 agricultural season. Treatments included three factors, the first factor represented by foliar application of wheat plants with auxin at a concentration of (0, 20 mg L-1) and the second factor involved the foliar application with three concentrations of Nano-chelated zinc (0, 1, 2 g L-1) applied before elongation and at drain filling. The third factor was irrigation with different water quality (2, 4, 8 dS m-1). This experiment included 54 experimental units arranged in CRD design in three replications. The results showed a significant effect of zinc on the activity of antioxidant enzymes (CAT, POD, SOD). While no significant effect of auxin was shown. The results also indicate the possibility of using saline water in irrigation (within this trial conditions), when plants were foliar supplied with Zn Nano - fertilizer.
