- Abstract
This investigation is based on Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, El Principito translated by María Soledad Ottone and El Principito con lenguaje inclusivo by Julia Bucci, so as to identify which linguistic aspects are considered in an inclusive work. In order to do it, we gathered and classified the words containing linguistic sexism found in Le Petit Prince and El Principito, and the words translated into gender-inclusive language in El Principito con lenguaje inclusivo. Then, we compared the books and we created a proposal of gender-inclusive language pattern. Besides, we analyzed the feminist translation strategies applied in the gender-inclusive version. The results showed that the linguistic aspects defining an inclusive work are the use of -e suffixes and that of non-sexist language. Finally, we concluded that the inclusive language is an important tool for the representation of different gender identities and to future gender-neutral translations.
