- Abstract
The author presents information on nonpandemic seasonal influenza and the increase in morbidity and mortality in case of pregnancy. He states that pregnant women are at high risk and complications which may lead to intensive care unit (ICU) admission or even death. The antenatal influenza infection and its effect on pregnant women and infants are discussed. The issues related to effectiveness of vaccines are also discussed.
