- Abstract
The article compares the long-term outcomes after open versus endovascular repair of intact abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). A retrospective analysis was conducted among patients in the Medicare Standard Analytic File who underwent isolated repair of intact AAA. The researchers used the National Death Index in determining the cause of death of patients. It was found out that the increased risk of all-cause mortality and AAA-related mortality is associated with the use of open repair compared with endovascular repair.
